Super Grant

Alright Grandma and Grandpa, here's an update on the kiddos:

Grant:

Travis spoke at Career Day at Grant's school on Monday. He had to entertain kindergarteners for 30 minutes and did a great job. He prepared a powerpoint presentation complete with burping sound effects that the kids loved. Then he clinched the deal by giving them bubble pens from Lockheed Martin. There was no way he could compete with Firefighter Dad, but he definitely beat Train Mom. Grant seemed to enjoy the day and was excited to see Dad at school.

School-wise, Grant is doing awesome. They recently had Dr. Seuss week, focusing on reading. Grant even got to dress up as his favorite storybook character: Big Joe. Mostly, it's his favorite because we could throw it together that morning without too much trouble. He's writing more and more. Yesterday he made me a birthday card that said: "Happy Birthday Mom at March."

Grant also wore his first suit to church on Sunday. Can you believe how cute he is? I can't believe it's a size six and fit just fine! Thanks Grandma! Grant's also benefiting from what we call the "Marble Miracle" at our house. We got fed up with his whining and fit-throwing, so we set up marble jars for the kids. They earn a marble for good behavior and lose one for whining, etc. We had the first whine-free Sunday this year. It was awesome.

Grant's also really into camping these days. We set up a kid tent in the basement and Grant races down to it every day after school. He changes into pajamas, has a snack and "camps out". We've been letting him sleep there with Blake on the weekends.
