First of all, Grant broke his arm the day before I got home. He fell off the monkey bars at the park on Thursday. Of course he acted fine, but wouldn't use his arm. So Travis took him to the dr on Friday and after x-rays, they found a hairline fracture on his elbow. He got a cool blue cast, was a trooper the whole time, and will only have it for three weeks.I got home Saturday, and Monday morning we hosted his best birthday party ever. We invited three friends from church and Grant played with them the whole time! The games were a hit and I think everyone loved it. We started with some snacks: pudding cups, raisins, capri suns, and alphabet cheese-its.
The most popular game of the party, was the improptu balloon game. Rules are as follows:
1. Find an extra balloon.
2. Blow it up as big as you can.
3. Let it go.
4. Laugh like crazy.
5. Repeat.

Our first official game was musical chairs.
After some fun hide-and-go-seek, it was cake time. Lucky for me, Grant was happy with orange cupcakes in the shape of a seven. The frosting turned out more french dressing orange than cool bright orange, but whatever. Our only big problem was with candles. Grant was pretty disappointed that I had gotten regular birthday candles instead of a "7" candle. Thankfully, this was quickly fixed by super-dad who made a quick trip the store in time for the party. Candle crisis averted, the blowing out of the candles went without a hitch! Happy Birthday Grant!!!

i love that top picture of Grant in his cast and spiked up hair....
