...deer, snakes, and groundhogs are all things we saw on our first ever six-mile family run. I finally found a cheap single jogging stroller on Craigslist yesterday. So we mapped out a course near the Manassas Airport and headed out nice and early today. It was a breezy 64 degrees when we loaded the boys into the jogging strollers and started the run.

One mile in. Look kids! Helicopters!

Blake tried to keep his feet on the front wheel as much as possible. Travis only threatened to make him walk once. haha Grant was happy with his bag of supplies: a baseball, enough pretzels for a year, water and an airplane toy. Hayden even fell asleep for part of the run. It was great! The kids loved seeing the helicopters parked at the airport and we even saw a couple planes land.

Travis pointed out this snake and I made him catch it! Wait a minute, is that a snake or a big worm?

Blake and Grant were pretty freaked out by it and wouldn't come any closer.

Cool bridge where we saw the deer, about 4 miles into the run. On the way back, the train came by and the conductor even waved at the kids. Travis and I started a run 5 min, walk 1 min pattern and the run was pretty easy (except for the final hill at the end)! So anyway 1 hr 25 min later, after a couple water breaks and the snake-catching, we finished! Yeah us!!
All I can say is YOU GUYS ARE CRAZY!! BUT you look so skinny and fit! GO HOBBS!!
ReplyDeleteToo bad the double stroller doesn't have one of those wheel guards like the other one does! That way Blake wouldn't be able to mess with it! Little punk!
