Well, we've started our cross country extravaganza! It started out a bit bumpy. They are re-paving our street and we had to park about a block and a half away the night before we left. So it took a few trips to bring all our luggage to the rental car so we could drive to the airport. Also, we ended up with a compact instead of a full-size car so we called it our clown car as we loaded suitcase after suitcase in the trunk, between the kids, under my feet, etc.
The flight was long. Seven hours with no movie or meal and completely full. Travis held Blake the whole time and we were SO glad when we landed in Oakland. We've been doing wedding stuff ever since. Here's a pic I took of Erica and Peter. I was the florist and photographer and I'm glad my work is done! The wedding and reception turned out great and we're recovering today. The kiddos are all out of whack from the late nights, but I think the spoiling is tempering their tempers. We hope to get on the road Tuesday after a final check on the van tomorrow.
It's fun to see where you're at guys. We didn't know your plans and were wondering when you were leaving etc. Glad to hear you're there. The pictures and flowers look great and she's a beautiful bride. See you soon, any special requests for a party? Can't wait...
ReplyDeleteWe will take two days to drive to ID, and hope to arrive sometime Wed afternoon. Then we'll stay until Easter and hit the road Apr 17. Then we drive two days to Nauvoo and stay there for a couple days. We can't wait! Then it's on to home with our new minivan! Thanks Mom and Dad Welsh for the cool car!!

Erica's dress is really pretty and your are a great photographer. The weather is cold and rainey today. There was a skiff of snow on the ground, but it will be gone by daybreak.
