Our little queen is six months old!! I can hardly believe it!! And seriously, I think she gets more gorgeous by the day.
Cosette was absolutely spoiled this month when both sets of grandparents came out for Grant's baptism. Although she is beginning to be a little shy of strangers, she warmed up quickly to everyone and got used to being carried, cuddled, and waited on by her new batch of servants. As with all the kiddos, Grandma Welsh taught her to eat baby food this month. Things started out a bit rocky with Cosette gagging and clamping down her mouth to refuse the spoon. She eventually figured it out and so far loves her rice cereal, bananas, and mangoes.
This month also brought Cosette's first official illness. It began with a cold and eventually turned into a double ear infection. She spent a few days being extremely fussy and spent the nights crying and demanding to be held. She never got a fever, but the radical change in behavior forced us to take her to the doctor. Thankfully, she seems to have recovered. Although we tried phasing out her Prevacid, and she's definitely NOT ready for that.
Cosette is a bit dubious of strangers lately. She even dissed Regan! Hopefully her big sis will forgive her! She is super-in love with Hayden though. He can get her to giggle like crazy and runs to her to tell her "it's okay" when she fusses. And she prefers her mom cuz her mom is the best. Poor Dad is just her punching bag. But really, who could say no to this face?
We got lots of shots like this:
because Cosette has mastered rolling all over the place. She flips from front to back and can cross the living room in a matter of seconds. Before we know it, she'll be army-crawling everywhere. But shes not the greatest sitter yet. She LOVES playing with her toys, especially the noisy rattles and the ones that play music. We put a musical crib toy in her bed and she loves to stare at it as she falls asleep. And we pulled out the exersaucer. She loves that too.
You would think she had a mouth full of teeth with all the chewing Cosette does. She's constantly got a toy, blanket, or hand in her mouth. She's said goodbye to her swing which just can't keep up with her 16 lbs and 4 oz. She's 26 inches long and officially moved into 6/9 month clothes.
I was excited to see her pass toys from one hand to the other today and she's thrown in a couple dah-dah's with her usual shrieking and raspberry blowing. Seriously, that girl can blow raspberries for hours. She still mostly takes short naps, but throws in an hour long one every couple days or so. Although she doesn't sleep forever, and has days when she cries and requires constant tending, those days are when she wants to be held. She'll even fall asleep in your arms and let you take a nap with her. Cosette just relaxes and cuddles and it's pretty great.
She's really getting hungry too and will actually drink 4-5 oz at a time all in one sitting. And she rocks at holding her bottle. But she also rocks at taking out her pacifier to play with it, only to get mad that it's not in her mouth.
And that's Cosette's month! We love her to pieces. Check out this link to see the other boys at 6 months. It's a toss-up between Hayden and Blake for her look-a-like. What do you think?
