Christmas Time!!

Since Thanksgiving, it's been a Christmas whirlwind! We decorated the tree, the house and even our front yard. Besides all that, this weekend has been full of Christmas season fun.

We started with the Madrigal Feast. We went last year and had a great time, so we were definitely up for it again! We joined the Burdicks and Hansons for the high school choir production. It involves a play, lots of singing, a few laughs and a really nice evening of music! We had a great time. My favorite part was Shaelyn's amazing performance. Travis' favorite part was seeing having a clap-off with Scott. They would try to be the last person clapping after each song. Only a little embarrassing.

Next up was the Manassas City Christmas Parade. We've always skipped it because it's too cold. And guess what? It was too cold! We lasted for the majority of the parade though and enjoyed lots of free candy and even holiday hats! It was great to see the local high school kids in the marching band. We stayed until Hayden just couldn't take it anymore. But it was great fun too!

After the parade we made our 2nd annual visit to the Walmart Santa. Yup, no fancy mall Santas for our ghetto kids! We'd rather go to Walmart where there's no lines and free pictures! The kids were excited to tell Santa what they wanted to bring him. Grant: letter tools (he wants a construction set to 'build' letters just like in his favorite book, Alphabet Under Construction. Blake: Sun Commander Planet Hero. Hayden: we told him to ask for a toy shopping cart. We're pretty sure Santa got a good deal on one at Target last week.

And I've saved the most exciting part for last: I mailed the Christmas cards and packages last night! Woo hoo!! And I'm done Christmas shopping!! Bring on Christmas!!

  1. Awesome pictures! That camera takes great photos or is it you Melanie?

What's with the black rimed glasses on Santa? I thought Santa had wire rims. The kids look like they were having fun sitting on his lap.

    Thanks for the wonderful post.
