Christmas Day

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! We had a great one! The kids were so excited this year about Santa. Poor Grant woke up at about 7am but had to wait for Blake and Hayden to finally wake up at around 7:30am before going downstairs.

Grant was very excited about getting a book called "Alphabet under Construction" which we checked out at the library over the summer. It's about a mouse that builds letters, and he wanted the book as well as some tools, so that he can build his own letters. So cute.

Blake has been into Fisher Price "Planet Heroes" lately, which are action figures with a solar system theme to it. He has almost all of them, except for the elusive Sun Commander, which he had to ask Santa for. Luckily, Santa found it. Thank goodness for Toys R Us, because Walmart and Target and almost every other store we went to didn't carry it.

Hayden can carry toys around all day, and whenever he goes over to his friends house, he bee-lines straight for the toy shopping carts.... because they can carry lots of toys. So we had to get him one for Christmas. Hayden and Grant were going back and forth all Christmas, though. Hayden would sneak some of Grant's letters into his cart while he wasn't looking. After a while, Grant would notice, get annoyed and take his letters back. Then, Hayden would wait again until Grant wasn't looking and take the letters again. It was super funny!

Melanie used some of her money from her dance class, and some Christmas money to purchase a new camera, which she's been using for about amonth now. So that was her big present. Travis also got her a few gift cards and other little things. Including a check for $1,000,000 dollars (aka - a personal day off once a month after which Travis will cook a super nice dinner for her).

Travis' big present was his GPS. Melanie got it on a Black Friday sale at Walmart. We loved Kent's so much when we borrowed it in California, that we thought we'd get one of our own. I also love the Mario Kart video game. So fun!

We had a great Christmas, which will be hard to top in 2009!
